Found an article in last month’s issue of
PC Gamer which sends a call out to those who might want to have their reviews published by the magazine! To begin the contest, they would like a few words scribed about
Peggle..
“Help some unicorn dude”
The latest entry from the (no longer) “little” online-publisher-that-could in the form of Peggle proves once again that the people at Popcap Games know what they are doing.
Peggle is the gaming equivalent of a genetic blend between the popular American-style jeu de Pinball and the Japanese Pachinko game. Through this cultural melting pot of gaming, you must use a combination of mathematical skill and good ol’ Lady Luck to guide your ball into enough “peggles” to satisfy the level requirement. If the “M” word scares you, not to worry; the game provides enough power ups, tips and blinking lights to help even the mathematically challenged beat each level.
While upon first glance it doesn’t appear to have any sustaining depth in game play, Peggle’s level design and glittery brain candy is a quick papercut-to-the-eye reminder of why they are one of the reigning Emperors of online casual gaming.
There’s my submission! Gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best…
